Other Web Hosting Companies offer their
services for "Free". We are all in business to make money. There is no
"Free". Somewhere you pay. You pay by letting them keep 10-15% of your
sales. You might tell yourself you don't care if they keep your money "if"
you make sales, but they know you will have sales and their 10-15%
"commission" far exceeds our flat rates. Your "commission" is based on your
prices.
Their justification for this commission seems
to be that they handle your order fulfillment. In order to have them do that
you either have to manually send the Hi Res images to the lab, when you get
an order, or you have to upload all of the images from your event to a
server. This takes hours and you are paying for the server space in your
commissions to their company.
We have a unique system that retrieves your
ordered images and sends the order to your lab without you ever touching the
order. So we can offer the same services they can without the commissions.
And with our system, you get paid immediately. We don't hold your money and
send it at the end of the month.
And...why should you pay them more commission
because you happen to charge more for your work, and maybe because you are
better at your craft, you sell more? Another less competent, lower priced
photographer gets to pay less? You end up subsidizing the other
photographers who don't generate money for those companies. It's like a
buffet dinner. The prices are worked out so that the restaurant charges
about twice as much as a standard dinner, knowing you will never really eat
twice as much food. But, it sure sounds good to say "Eat all you want".
Our payment concept was designed by Bob Kahn,
a professional wedding and portrait photographer just like most of you. He
reviewed other "Pricing Models" and concluded that he would want to pay a
fixed rate, not a percentage of his sales.
When he spoke to photographers using these
other commission based services, the comments were always the same. Their
usual comments were: "I get free web hosting. I only pay if there are
sales." When asked what they paid on average each month, almost everyone
paid twice as much as they would have if the used our fixed rate monthly
plan.
If you want to fool yourself into thinking
you are getting something for free, by all means use the other companies
that promote that concept. If you want to pay for the services you need and
not subsidize other people, then you will find our service to be your
choice.
